BOSTON, August 22, 2016 - Tekizma Inc. has entered the state health insurance Exchange market with the Massachusetts Health Connector’s adoption of Tekizma Recon, the company’s premier product.
The Health Connector starting using Tekizma Recon in February. The cloud-based software ensures that health insurance eligibility systems, including those of all associated stakeholders -- from issuers to billing -- have the most accurate, up-to- date health coverage information so that consumers have continuous access to quality care.
“The main goal is to make sure we can make a difference in patients’ lives,” said Nilu Kundagrami, CEO of Tekizma . “That is the biggest motivating factor.”
The IT infrastructure that supports the delivery of health insurance through an Exchange is complex, involving numerous processes that do everything from determining applicants’ eligibility to processing their insurance benefits with carriers. These processes rely on IT systems that rapidly exchange so much data with each other that information can get lost, leading to discrepancies between systems.
Through software like Tekizma Recon, it is more likely that a patient’s eligibility and enrollment is quickly transmitted to the carrier, ensuring the patient can access benefits and coverage in a timely manner. The software also makes it easier for Exchanges and carriers to track patients, reducing problem cases and making member issues easier and quicker to fix.
Tekizma Recon enables those who manage eligibility systems to take a proactive approach to data integrity and consequently retain their customers' support, as well as their constituents’ confidence. Tekizma’s intuitive, easy-to-use software identifies and alerts system managers of discrepancies as soon as they arise -- before those issues can impact consumers. The process is truly simple: Tekizma Recon users need only define their inputs, configure rules, and tell Recon how often they want to run the reconciliation process. Tekizma’s team can even help customers with setup, installing Tekizma Recon on-site. Tekizma Recon also follows a software as a service (SaaS) licensing model, which ensures that customers receive continuous support and updates.
“Our members deserve a solid, seamless experience when they come to the Health Connector for health insurance,” said Jason Hetherington, the CIO of the Massachusetts Health Connector. “Through this software, we are better able to manage members’ eligibility and enrollment, and provide that better experience.”
